Thomas A. Buddelmeyer age 81, of Holgate died Monday morning, June 3, 2019 at Vancrest of Holgate.
His Legacy… Tom was born July 4, 1937 to Alfred and Theresa (Stechschulte) Buddelmeyer in Avis, Ohio. He was a long time truck driver for the Farmer’s Elevator. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a retired Lieutenant for the New Bavaria Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Sons of the AMVETS New Bavaria Post 599, and a social member of the VFW.
His Family… He is survived by his sons, Richard (Diane) Buddelmeyer, Little River, South Carolina and Scott Buddelmeyer, Holgate; grandchildren, Nicholas, and Brittni; great grandson Nicholas; and siblings, Norma Phillips, Jacksonville, FL, Mary Jane Inkrott, Indianapolis, IN, Henry (Darlene) Buddelmeyer, Glandorf, Clete (June) Buddelmeyer, Fairborn, OH, RoseAnn (Gene) Warnecke, Glandorf, Margie Nienberg, Ottawa; brother-in-law, Norm Balbaugh, Miller City; and sister-in-law Marvell Buddelmeyer, Glandorf. He was preceded in death by son, Mark; grandson, Matthew; sister, JoAnn Balbaugh; brother, James Buddelmeyer; brother-in-laws, Bill Phillips, Steve Inkrott, and Charles Nienberg.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday from 3-8 pm and again at the church from 9:30 until the service. A Fireman’s last call service will be held at the funeral home at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:30 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Cunningham presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tom’s memory to Vancrest Health Care Center Activity Fund or to the donor’s choice.
