Arlene J. Agler

Arlene Joyce Agler age 84, of Holgate, died Monday morning, April 1, 2019 at Vancrest of Holgate.

Her Legacy… Arlene was born June 25, 1934 to Raymond and Martha (Moehrman) Bortz in Flatrock Township.  On June 20, 1954 she married Larry Agler in St. John United Church of Christ, Holgate.  Before retirement, Arlene was a bookkeeper and seamstress working for various employers.  Arlene was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Holgate.

She enjoyed working the area Red Cross blood drives and volunteering for the church, senior center and nursing home.

Her Family… Arlene is survived by her loving husband Larry of 64 years; daughters: Marsha (Phil) Case, Cumming, Georgia, Linda Arreguin, Napoleon, Anne Greenhagen, Waterville, and Susan (Bruce) Arps, Holgate; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one on the way and a sister-in-law, Janice Bortz, Ames, Iowa.  Arlene was preceded in death by her brother Walter and a grandson Arron Agler.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in St. John’s United Church of Christ on Thursday from 2-4 and 5-8 pm and again before the church service.  The Celebration of Arlene’s Life will be on Friday, April 5, 2019 in the church at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions made in memory of Arlene can be made to St. John’s   United Church of Christ or Vancrest of Holgate.
