Dennis (Dude) McDonald

Local music legend Denny "Dude" McDonald, of Holgate, passed away in his home Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Denny was born July 10, 1951, to Richard McDonald and Doris (McDonald) Wagner of Defiance. Denny leaves behind his life love, Renee LaMarche McDonald; a beloved daughter, Michelle Lee McDonald; a stepson, Andrew LaMarche; two grandsons, Wesley Michael Wenner and Luke Brady Wenner, all of Holgate; and a brother, Jeff McDonald of Perrysburg.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Bonnie McDonald.
He was a self-employed owner of Dude’s Speaker Repair. Dude played music professionally with many legendary national acts, as well as some of the most successful acts of the region. Many will remember the sound of his keyboard and B3 organ. He was a loving family man and phenomenal musician who will be missed by many.
A celebration of his life with family, friends and music will be held at the Buckeye Club in Miller City on Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Renee McDonald or Michelle McDonald and her boys.
