Dennis N. Schuller, a beloved community member and dedicated family man, was born on December 11, 1942, in Defiance, Ohio. He attended Holgate High School and served in the Army National Guard. He worked and retired from General Motors in Defiance, Ohio, where he was known as “Butterball”. On July 1, 1967, Dennis married Nancy A. Wenner, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter and faith.
Denny passed comfortably at his home, surrounded by his family on August 15, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, his parents, Knots and Sis Schuller, brother, Bill Aelker, sister Kay Kuhlman, sister Genevieve Schuller, and brother-in-law Bill Giesige.
Denny is survived by his children; Stacy Schuller, Stephen (Liza) Schuller, Casey (Chastity) Schuller, Mike Wenner (special cousin), and his cherished grandchildren; Noah, Donnie, Taylor, Rylie, Aniles, Lexa, Skylar, Cason and one great-grandchild; Donnie. He is survived by his siblings; sister Kathy Giesige, Sister-in-law Helen Aelker, and brother-in-law Richard Kuhlman. Denny also shared special bonds with Justin Trembach, Noah Kerlin and Wendy Saille, who further enriched his life.
He was a proud member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also volunteered with the Defiance area furniture bank. He was a member of the VFW Post 8847, the Amvets and Eagles.
He loved fishing, playing cards, gambling at the casino, woodworking/crafts, and spending time with family and friends. He and Nancy loved to travel and enjoyed spending time in both Florida and out West. He especially enjoyed his yearly fishing trips, a tradition going on 52+ years. Among those who enjoyed these yearly trips with Denny were Marv, Frank, Tim, Jim, Casey, Mike, Chad, Aaron (to name a few). The young guys surely tried to keep the old timers out of trouble, but that usually did not happen!

The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Defiance ER, St. Vincents Mercy Medical Center, St Vincent Vascular Access Team, Kish Ambulance, Hospice Northwest Ohio, Pastor Marcis, Father Tim Kummerer, Deacon John Weber, VFW Post 8847, and Zachrich Funeral Home for all the special care of not only our dad, but also his family.
To know our dad was to love him, he truly was a kindhearted man. He would talk to anyone and always had a smile to share.
If he ever shared “Have a Holy Moment” with you, know he wanted you to have a great day and to pass it on.
