Dorothy Lee Altman entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 13, 2018.
Dorothy is survived by her children Michael (Patti) Altman of Napoleon, Rhonda (Paul) Hoffman of Michigan, Cindy (Ken) Grey of Perrysburg, Rick (Robin) Altman of Liberty Center, Candy Altman of New York, Melinda (Joe) Altman-Click of Napoleon, and Heather (Kevin) Morris of Napoleon. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous family and friends.
Dorothy was born on October 16, 1943 to Marceda and Forrest Woodruff. She was a proud graduate of Northwest State Community College with a degree in nursing. She was dedicated to serving in her community as a founding member of the Hamler EMS, with over 30 years of service. She was recognized by the American Red Cross as a Home Town Hero, as well as Citizen of the Year by the Hamler Community.
Dorothy enjoyed crafting, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and attending events with the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Harvest Fellowship Church. She was dedicated to her family, her community, and those serving in the armed forces.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dorothy’s life. Visitation will be at Zachrich Funeral Home in Holgate, Ohio on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and one hour before the church service. A life celebration service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 am in Harvest Fellowship with a luncheon following the burial provided by the Ladies of the Church. Burial will be in Marion Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hamler EMS at 625 Edgerton Street, Hamler, 43524 ,the Ohio Living Hospice Make it Happen Program or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The family would like to thank the Bowling Green Care center and Ohio Living Hospice for its compassionate and outstanding care.
