Edith L. Huffman

Edith L. Huffman, age 87, of Holgate died Wednesday night, January 19, 2011 at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Holgate.

Her Legacy… She was born December 25, 1923 in Bellefontaine OH to Jesse W. Sr. and Mildred (Scott) Hill. She graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1941. She was briefly married to Carroll Humphreys who is also deceased. On December 25, 1955 she married L. Eugene Huffman who proceeded her in death. Edith was a homemaker who enjoyed working on crafts, sewing, watercolors, and drawing. Edith loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she liked to read and cook.

Her Family… She will be sadly missed by her loving family; daughters, Nikki Humphreys and Sherry (Humphreys) Wren, both of Bellefontaine, Julie (Greg) Thomas, New Bavaria, Joni (Mike) Peck, New Bavaria, and Jana Von Deylen, Napoleon; a son James Huffman, New Bavaria and 2 step-children; Andrya (Gerald) Lowther and Thomas D. Huffman ,both of South Carolina. Edith was proud of her 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. Her sister, Ester Pauline Stevens, resides Belle Center, OH. She was preceded in death by her brother Jesse Hill Jr., brother-in-law, Howard Stevens; sister-in-law, Jackie Hill and a son-in-law Terry Wren.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home on Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 2-6 pm. A Celebration of Edith’s life will be Sunday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville, OH at 2 pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edith’s name to the Holgate Community Library or the American Heart Association.
