Edna H. Okuley

Edna H. Okuley age 93, of New Bavaria, died Friday evening, April 5, 2013 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.

Her Legacy… She was born June 29, 1919 to Adam and  Margeret (Faber) Westrick, in New Bavaria.  On June 29, 1937 she married Leo Okuley. Edna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church as well as the Rosary Altar and CLC.

Her Family…She is survived by her 7 children: Tom (Dorothy) Okuley, New Bavaria, Joyce (Frank) Poulson, Summerville, New Jersey, Janet (Bob) Otto, Wooster, Mike (Carol) Okuley, New Bavaria, Margaret Okuley, Napoleon, Kevin Okuley, Napoleon, and Ben (Deb) Okuley, New Bavaria; 23 grandchildren;  and 33 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband on December 4, 1999; 2 sons, Dan and Gerard; 3 brothers, Urban, Lee, and Albert “Butch”  Westrick;  sister, Viola; and granddaughter, Michelle.

Her Farewell Services…Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 10 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
