Eldon Carl Sickmiller

Eldon Sickmiller age 76, died in his Malinta home on Saturday, January 10, 2026. He was born April 22, 1949 to Lester and Leota (Rettig) Sickmiller. After high school graduation and a year of college, he served with the United States Army.  Eldon was employed with GM Powertrain for 41 years. On August 16, 1986, he married Rebecca Bishop in Hope Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose and AMVETS.

Eldon is survived by his wife Becky; his stepchildren: Jasen Shanks and Sara Shaw and his siblings: Clara, Sharon, and Martha. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ed, James, Arnold, Shirley and an infant sister, Lois Marie.

There will visitation for Hop from 9-11:00 am on Monday, January 19, 2026 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Holgate. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Reverend Jeff McCarn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to Elara Caring Hospice or St. John's United Church of Christ. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate.
