Eldred L. Eiden

Eldred Eiden age 86, of New Bavaria, went home Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2019 at the Defiance In-patient Hospice Center surrounded by his family. Eldred died three days before his 87th birthday, born February 13, 1932 to Gilbert and Loretta (Brinkman) Eiden.  On June 24, 1959, he married Betty Ann Nadler.  Eldred was an Army Korean Veteran.  He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans #1964, American Legion Post #262, He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria Eucharistic minister, and former parish council member.  Eldred was a mechanic at Neinberg’s Supply Company, Glandorf.

His Family… Eldred is survived by his loving wife Betty of 59 years; children: Teresa (Dale) Schroeder, Defiance, Nancy(Arnie Hardy) Eiden, Holgate, Marilyn (Scott) Miller, Canton, MI, Dennis Eiden, New Bavaria, Jana (Gary) Olson, Oak Harbor, James (Heather) Eiden, Defiance, Jonathon (Heather) Eiden, Holgate; grandchildren: Jacquelyn, Kelley, Kristy, Darci Schroeder, Dustin (Sara) Eiden, Samuel Miller, Alexa (Scott) Primeau, Luke Eiden, Zachary and Hailey Olson, Amber Palladino, Blakely and Isaac Eiden, and Skylar Eiden, a great grandson, Taylor Primeau and sisters, Arlene Shoemaker and Betty Bott. He was preceded in death by a sister Alice Wagner.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street on Wednesday from 2-5 and 6-8 pm.  Everyone will be welcomed into Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria Thursday, February 14 from 9:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Hamler American Legion.  Contributions made in Eldred’s memory can be made to Henry County Transportation Network or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
