Elmer David Hogrefe age 89, died in his Napoleon home on Sunday morning, March 20, 2022.
His Legacy… Elmer was born May 24, 1932 to Albert and Lydia (Norden) Hogrefe in Freedom Township. He graduated from Liberty Center High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force. On April 16, 1955, he married Eva Carr. Elmer drove truck for Miller Brother Trucking. He also did some construction work with Lathrop in Toledo. He was a member of the Moose and AMVETS, both in Napoleon.
His Family… Elmer is survived by his children: Eva (Tim) Ford, Whitehouse, Peggy Heyman, Napoleon, Brad (Margaret) Hogrefe, Holgate, Phyllis Hogrefe, Napoleon and Dora Layton, Corpus Christi, TX; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; sisters, Dorothy Ford, Yelleville, AR and Barbara (Larry ) Sorentino, OR. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife, siblings, a grandson and a great grandson.
His Farewell Services… The celebration of Elmer’s life will be Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate with Pastor Rich Betts officiating. Burial will be in Heath Cemetery, Liberty Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to be made to Southern Care Hospice.
