Eugene Ray Rothman

Eugene Ray Rothman age 69, of Holgate died Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at the Toledo Hospital.
His Legacy… Gene was born October 4, 1948 to Claude and Ruth (Winnow) Rothman in Defiance. He graduated from Holgate High School in 1967. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate and the K of C. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Napoleon American Legion. He was an electrician working for Toledo Edison. Gene was loved by many. He played softball and poker and was a Notre Dame Fanatic.
His Family… He is survived by a son Mark Rothman; a granddaughter, Allison; siblings: Connie Lane, Holgate, John Rothman, Holgate, Mary (Rex) Hohenberger, Holgate, Jeff (Annette) Rothman, Holgate, a sister-in-law, Liz Rothman, Holgate; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Brooke Rothman, and a brother, James Rothman.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate on Thursday from 2-8 pm. Gene will be lying in state at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate with the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions made in Gene’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or the Holgate Baseball Association.
