Frank Fred Gordon, Jr.

Frank F. Gordon, 88, of Holgate died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.

His Legacy… He was born July 13, 1923 to Frank Sr. and Erna (Rabe) Gordon in Napoleon. Frank was a WWII army veteran. He and Mary Binger married in 1944. After serving time with the Army he continued to work for the government at Rossford Ordinance Depot as a supply clerk and in the fire department. He retired in 1965. After ROD he worked for Dinner Bell for 19 years. Frank was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate and belonged to the National Wildlife Federation and William F. Helmke American Legion Post 340.

His Family… He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years; son Ken Gordon, Oregon, OH; two grandsons; 2 great granddaughters and sisters Frances Aderman, Napoleon and Florence Smith, Paulding. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home of Holgate on Friday from 2-4 and 5-7 pm and 1 hour before the service at church. The celebration of Frank's life will be on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. John Lutheran Church with Reverend Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors accorded by the Holgate American Legion and New Bavaria VFW. Contributions can be made in Frank's memory to St. John Lutheran Church, National Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
