Helen C. Bostelman

Helen C. Bostelman, age 94, of Holgate died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

Her Legacy… She was born December 17, 1916 in Holgate to Frank and Amelia (Huber) Armbruster. Helen graduated from Florida High School in 1934. On May 18, 1935 she married Harry Bostelman and he died June 20, 1968. She was a homemaker and helped operate the farm with her husband, which she continued to do after his death. She was an avid quilter and she loved to keep feeders to attract birds. Her true passion in life was cooking for family and friends. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate. She was a volunteer at Vancrest of Holgate, Napoleon Senior Center, the American Cancer Society, St. John’s Ladies Aid and Mission Society. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Farm Bureau and Ohio Farmers Union.

Her Family… She is survived by her loving family; son, Lonnie (Linda) Bostelman, Antwerp; daughters, Mary Hetrick, Napoleon and Connie (Rick)
Musshel, Napoleon; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and brother Kenneth (Doris) Armbruster, Napoleon; brother-in-law Robert Davis and sisters-in-law, Mavis and Joann Armbruster and many beloved nieces and nephews. Proceeding Helen in death are brothers, Donald and Harold; sisters, Virginia Hitts, Jean Davis and Evelyn Palmer, and 3 infant brothers.

Her Farewell Services… Friends and family will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 2-5 and 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the funeral. A celebration of Helen’s life will be on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A luncheon will be served in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions can be made in Helen’s honor to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
