Jack Albert Ewald, II age 79, of Leipsic, died Thursday evening at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Jack was born on August 15, 1945 on the military base in Lawton, OK to Jack A. and Norma (Welch) Ewald, Sr.. He graduated from Cincinnati Parcel High School. He enlisted in the United States Army. On June 11, 1976, he married Elaine Verhoff. He was self employed in the automotive business. Jack was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria.

Jack is survived by his wife of almost 49 years; and his in-laws: Dorothy Verhoff, Continental, Dan (Barb) Verhoff, Miller City, Bobb Verhoff, Ottawa, Ed (Marg) Verhoff, Kalida, Pat (Doug) Lammers, Leipsic, Mel (Phil) Verhoff, Columbus, Joe (Kathy) Verhoff, Kalida, Diane (Hal) Dunithan, West Chester. Jack was preceded in death by his in-laws: Roger Verhoff and Kathy Verhoff.

Friends will be received in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:00 am until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Isadore Cemetery, Cuba. Contributions in memory of Jack Ewald, can be made to the Henry County Joint Ambulance District. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Zachrich Family Funeral Home of Holgate.
