Janet R. Hohenbrink

d. October 10, 2017

Today our family lost a very special person.  She was a mother, grandmother, wife, and great friend.  She was part tom-boy from growing up with three brothers and part lady because of her mother’s influence on her life.  She loved campfire and hot dog roasts, the sound of birds singing and frogs croaking.  She enjoyed Mother Nature and scenic pictures, as well as traveling.  When we think of her passing, we remember her gentle nature, great sense of humor, and a person to turn to in troubling times.

Janet R. Hohenbrink age 72, of Leipsic, died Tuesday morning at St. Rita’s Mercy Health in Lima.

She was born December 5, 1944 to Urban and Edith (Siefert) Wagner in McComb.    Janet graduated from Holgate High School in 1963. She married Dennis Hohenbrink on July 9, 1966.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria.

She is survived by her husband Dennis and children: Carolyn (Steve) Miller, Leipsic, Dennis Jr., McClure, Christa (Ryan) Verhoff, Ottawa, and Ryan, Belmore; 5 grandaughters; brothers: Ron (Karen) Wagner, Continental and Larry (Judy) Wagner, Sherwood; sister-in-law, Cindy Wagner, Marblehead.   She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Wagner.

Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Everyone is welcomed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria at 9:30 am on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions made in Janet’s memory can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
