Dr. Kenneth Loyle Boyd age 82, of Holgate and formerly of Akron, IA died Saturday morning, March 19, 2016 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.
His Legacy… He was born March 19, 1934 to Kenneth and Opal (Leakey) Boyd in Garden City, KS. He enlisted with the United States Army. On November 11, 1956, he married Janice Lee Bengtson in Dawson, MN. Kenneth received his DVM from Kansas State University. He was a veterinarian for 34 years. He was a member of the Christian Church, American Veterinary Medicine Association, Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, S. Dakota Veterinarian Medical Association and Nebraska Veterinarian Medical Association.
His Family… He is survived by his wife, Jan; daughters, Pamela Saunders, Midland, TX and Konni Tracy, Defiance; a son, Kerry Boyd, Helena, MT; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a brother Lyle Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Phyllis and Valyta.
