Leona Arlene (Polker) Gilliland

Leona Arlene Gilliland age 85, of Napoleon died Friday morning, July 31, 2015 at the Henry County Hospital.
Her Legacy… She was born June 17, 1930 to William “Harry” and Pauline Marie Wilhelmina (Helmke) Polker in Napoleon. On March 18, 1950 she married James Herbert Gilliland. Leona was a homemaker and was the general manager at the former Watson and Lash Toy Store in Napoleon. She was a member of the Bert G. Taylor American Legion Auxiliary Post 300. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Napoleon and was a former member of St. John United Church of Christ and Quilting Guild.
Her Loving Family… She is survived by: children, Ken (Karen) Gilliland, Holgate, Dave (Pat) Gilliland, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Terrie (Bob Mitchell) Casarez, Napoleon, Missey Pritchard, Napoleon and Ann (Larry) Marckel, Defiance; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and siblings, Raymond Polker and Patricia Treadwell. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 12, 2002, her brother Richard Polker and an infant daughter Letty Jean Gilliland.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in First Presbyterian Church, 303 W. Washington, Napoleon on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 10 am until the service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Tom Polker officiating. Contributions made in Leona’s memory can be made to Hospice of Henry County or the Holgate Community Library. Zachrich Funeral Home of Holgate has been entrusted with the services.
