Madge Irene Nartker

Madge Irene Nartker age 95, of Napoleon, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Genacross Lutheran Service, Napoleon.

Her Legacy… Madge was born the daughter of Edwin and Clara (Franz) Rettig on March 11, 1923 in Holgate.  She graduated from Florida High School in 1941.  She married J. Richard Nartker on March 2, 1947.  She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, helped with Bible school and was a Sunday school teacher.  She was a farm wife and employed by Campbell’s Soup Company.

Madge is survived by many nephews and nieces and a special sister-in-law, Joan Nartker.  Madge was preceded in death by her husband Richard on January 17, 1999, her daughter Linda Nartker September 15, 2008 and her siblings: Carmen Brinkman, Dorothy Ludeman, Leota Sickmiller, Rudolf Rettig, and Clifford Rettig.

Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Friday from 6-8:00 pm and again one hour at the church before the service.  The celebration of Madge’s life will be on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in St. John’s United Church of Christ at 10:30 am with Reverend David Orr officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions made in Madge’s memory can be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, Holgate, Henry County Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
