Margaret, known to friends as Peggy was born on September 28th, 1924 in Toledo Ohio to Agnes Sinclair Oswald and Elias Fassett Oswald of Collingwood Avenue, when the street cars still passed their home.  She graduated Scott High School and spent a year at Knox finishing school in Cooperstown NY.  She married Donald T Ellis, also of Toledo on July 21, 1945.  During the war, she volunteered driving for the Toledo Chapter of the Red Cross, which her mother Agnes helped found and managed for many years.  Margaret later became a Licensed Social Worker in Wellesley Mass.  She was a member of the Junior League, and an active volunteer throughout her life.   Later she married was to William Vicinus of Ashland Massachusetts and the two of them were active advocates for the Elderly, and volunteered in their community.  She enjoyed golf, skiing, boating and shared time between Homes in Massachusetts, Siesta Key Florida and Ludlow Vermont.  She enjoyed writing her memoirs, spending time at the Senior Friendship Center in Sarasota and spending time with her family.

Margaret’s family were prominent Toledo pioneers, the Oswalds, Fassetts Sinclair’s, Wales, and Riggs families were early settlers in Lucas County, most arriving when Toledo was a vast wilderness, and they made their mark in Toledo.  Their names and faces are pasted throughout the Lucas County Memoirs.

Margaret is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Fassett Sinclair Oswald, and husband William Vicinus.
