Marlyn L. Clark, age 69, of Holgate, died Monday morning, October 21, 2013 at the Henry County Hospital.

Her Legacy… She was born January 19, 1944 to Virgil and Eulalia (Horstman) Gerschutz, in New Bavaria.  Marlyn graduated from Miller City High School in 1962.  On September 27, 1974 she married Earl D. “Butch” Clark.  Marlyn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate.  She served on the Altar Rosary Society, Eucaristic Minister, and Pastoral Care Committee.  Marlyn enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, and bird watching.  She was previously employed at The Campbell Soup Company in the accounting department and as an aide for Holgate Local Schools.  Marlyn also sold Avon products.  She was a volunteer at the Lutheran Home and Defiance Hospice.

Her Family… Marlyn is survived by her loving family: daughter, Joan (Steve) Sehlmeyer, Napoleon; sons, Jeff (Kathy) Clark, Plain City, OH and Matt Clark, Holgate; step-children, Sabrina “Kim” (Andy) Curry, Edgerton, Julie (David) Robinson, Hudson, OH, and Kristen (Eddie) Sanders, Gulf Breeze FL; grandchildren, Benjamin and Adam Sehlmeyer, Andrew and Nathan Clark, Jacob, Brendan, and Madison Clark; step-grandchildren, Josh and Nathan Giesige, Shauna Wright, Reid and Jena Robinson, and Jamison Sanders; 8 step-great grandchildren; and siblings, Marvell (Jim) Buddelmeyer, Judy Rosengarten, Linda (Gary) Ellerbrock, Theresa (Dr. Grover) Johnson, Bonnie (Dan) Inkrott, Donna (Larry) Amos, Larry (Peg) Gerschutz, Ed (Rose Ann) Gerschutz, Cletus (Mary) Gerschutz, Kathy (Jeff) Lammers, Raymond (Shirley) Gerschutz, Norm (Becky) Gerschutz, Elaine (Dr. Tony) Rump, and sister-in-law, Teresa Gerschutz. She was preceded  in death by her parents,  husband, step-granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Brown, brother, Karl Gerschutz, and brother-in-law, Ken Rosengarten.

Her Farewell Services…Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday from 2-9 pm.  A Rosary Service will be held at 7:30pm.  The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions can be made in Marlyn’s memory to Defiance or Henry County Hospice, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or Holgate Athletic Boosters.
