Marvin F. Baden
April 21, 1925 — June 28, 2015
Marvin F. Baden age 90, of Holgate and formerly of Hamler, died Sunday night, June 28, 2015 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.
His Legacy… He was born April 21, 1925 to William and Frieda (Brandt) Baden in Hamler. Marvin graduated from Hamler High School in 1943. He was then drafted into the United States Navy. On August 31, 1947 he married Margaret M. Gerken. She died on August 16, 2012. He was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler and a railroad operator for the Chessie System (B&O).
His Family… He is survived by his loving daughters Patricia (Rod) Miller, Hamler and Sandra Goeken, Oswego, IL; grandchildren, Eric (Amy) Prigge, Lisa Stout and Hannah Goeken; and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shrock, Annalise Stout and Colton Stout. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Norma Smith, Donald Baden and Dr. Kenneth Baden.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday from 4-8 pm and one hour before the church service in Hamler. The celebration of Marvin’s life will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler with Reverend Tamara Wood officiating. Burial will be private at Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions can be made in Marvin’s memory to St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
