Mary Ann Giesige
March 19, 1953 — March 25, 2011
Mary Ann Giesige, age 58 of New Bavaria, died Friday evening, March 25, 2011 in her home after a long battle with cancer.
Her Legacy… She was born March 19, 1953 to Virgil and Revella (Breckler) Willitzer in Defiance. On June 14, 1975 she marred Tony Giesige. Mary was a homemaker and substitute for the New Bavaria mail route. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and also a CCD teacher, member of the Rosary Altar Society, Eucharistic Minister and cleaned the church for several years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tony; sons, Steve (Merry) Giesige, Liberty Center and Jonathan (Jenilee) Giesige, New Bavaria; a daughter, Nancy Giesige, Napoleon; her mother Revella of Defiance; 4 grandchildren, Alyssa, Brady, Lauren and Clayton; sisters, Evelyn Williams, AZ, Nancy McGee, NC and Karen Shaffer, Defiance; and brothers, Virgil Willitzer and Mike Willitzer both of Defiance. Mary was preceded in death by her father and brother Anthony Willitzer.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 2-5 and 6-8 pm with a Rosary service that evening at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Mary's honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Cancer Society (Melanoma) or Hospice of Henry County.
