Mildred Elizabeth Westrick age 93, of New Bavaria died Wednesday morning, February 6, 2013 at the Henry County Hospital, Napoleon.

Her Legacy… She was born December 2, 1919 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Meyer) Kleman, in Miller City.  She married Herbert Westrick on November 15, 1939.  Mildred was a long time active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was past president of both the Rosary Altar Society and CLC.  She organized birthday parties for residents of Vancrest and also helped teach CCD for many years.  Mildred also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels.  Hobbies that Mildred enjoyed include embroidery, canning, and making baby blankets for every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her Family… She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Mary (Larry) Weber, Maumee; Shirley Westrick, New Bavaria; Sharon Westrick, New Bavaria; Ginny (Phil) Bauer, Napoleon; Joan (Ken) Lanning, Northwood; son, David (Linda Estep) Westrick, Holgate; son-in-law, Bill Miller, Coldwater, MI; and daughter-in-law, Deb Diemer, Ottawa; 20 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren, with one great granddaughter on the way.  Mildred was preceded in death by her husband; children, William “Bill” Westrick, Eileen Gill, and Ruthann Miller; granddaughter, Heather Weber; and sisters, Mary Niese, Florence Niese, Laura Ellerbrock, Edith Eiden, Luella Gerdeman; and brothers, Alvin, Lawrence, and Norbert Kleman.

Her Farewell Services…  Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday from 6-8pm and Friday from 2-8 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions can be made in Mildred’s memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
