Ninfa Gonzalez Resendez

Ninfa Gonzalez Resendez age 93, of Holgate, died Thursday, December 15, 2022 in her son’s Defiance home.

Her Legacy… She was born October 16, 1929 to Rafael and Pola (Salinas) Gonzalez in Martinitos, N.L. Mexico.  On January 20, 1945, she married Raul Resendez in Mexico. She was employed by Tem-Cole, McClure in the packaging department until her retirement in 1984.  Ninfa was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate, Guadalupe Society and Rosary Alter Society.  In her earlier years she loved to fix her traditional Mexican food for parties.  In her later years she enjoyed watching soap operas on Telemundo TV. One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her family!

Her Family… She is survived by her children: Guadalupe (Dora) Resendez, Monterrey, Mexico, Lydia (Ralph) Fleming, Defiance, Ricardo (Shirley) Resendez, Defiance, Juan Resendez, Holgate, Horasio (Melanie) Resendez, Defiance, and Roberto (Anna) Resendez, Defiance; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Ninfa was preceded in death by her husband, Raul, daughters: Oralia Resendez and Laurentina Coil; a grandson; two brothers and three sisters.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 3-6:00 pm and again one hour before the service at church.  The Rosary will be recited at 2:30 on Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate with Father Nick Cunningham officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.  Contributions in her memory, can be made to St. Mary’s Rosary Society, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
