Norma M. Smith age 90, of Springfield, IL and formerly of Hamler, OH died early Tuesday morning, January 22, 2013 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Her Legacy… She was born January 30, 1922 to William and Frieda (Brandt) Baden in Hamler. On April 5, 1941, she married Erford N. Smith. Norma was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Mt. Pulaski, IL. She is survived by a brother, Marvin Baden, Hamler; nieces, Patricia (Baden) Miller, Hamler and Sandra (Baden) Goeken, Oswego, IL; great niece Hannah L. Goeken, Montreal QC Canada and other nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Erford on December 26, 1987 and brothers, Donald W. Baden and Dr. Kenneth W. Baden.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William St., Holgate, OH on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00 am. The Celebration of Norma’s Life will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Sharon Stonerock officiating. Burial will be private at the Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Contributions can be made in Norma’s memory to Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate or to a charity of your choice.
