Pauline M. Thomas, age 97, of New Bavaria, died Thursday morning, April 28, 2011 at Vancrest Health Care Center of Holgate.
Her Legacy… She was born New Bavaria on September 3, 1913 to Lola and Helen (Swary) Gustwiller. On February 9, 1932 she married LeRoy Thomas. Pauline was a homemaker and had worked on the family farm milking the cows and feeding the chickens. She enjoyed music and polka dancing and was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Her Family… She is survived by her family; sons, James Thomas and Thomas (Chris) Thomas and daughter Marilyn (Joe) Stouffer all of New Bavaria; daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Thomas; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sisters, Pearl "Babe", Al Berta, "Breta", and Honey "Anna Rose". She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy in 1975, sisters Betsy "Ruth", Martha "Boots", Annette "Nettie; brothers, Lavon "Fella" and Alyovious "Boy", son John Thomas, infant son LeRoy Jr., daughter-in-law, Lois Thomas; grandson; great grandson and great great granddaughter.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Friday from 3-8 pm and from 10:00 am on Saturday morning. The Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Pauline's honor to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to the donor's choice.
