Rebecca Ann Ganske, 75, of Napoleon passed away on 10/04/2022 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice surrounded by family.
Becky was born and raised in Lexington, Ohio, and graduated from Lexington schools. She attended Ohio State University School of Nursing and obtained her nursing degree at Northwest State Community College. She worked as an LPN primarily at the Lutheran Home (now Genacross Lutheran Services) in Napoleon and treated the residents there with love, respect and dignity.
On May 12, 2002 she married Erwin “Pep” Ganske who survives her. She is also survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Gerken) Schuller (Steve) of Holgate, Abby (Gerken) Readshaw (Brandon), of Napoleon, and Michael Gerken of Frankfort, Ohio; 9 grandchildren: Noah, Rylie, Lexa, Caden, Cale, Cason, Calleigh, Peyton and Sammy, stepchildren Gabby and Brent Ganske, sister Judith Burchfield, and special lifelong friend Nancy Cullen Hart.
She was an accomplished musician and played organ and piano at several area churches. She also loved to express her creativity by sewing. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Marjorie (Russell) Bollinger, sister Ruth Bollinger, and many aunts and uncles. Becky was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Florida, Ohio.
Friends will be received in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio on December 10, 2022 from 10:00 am until the celebration of her life at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the family columbarium in Lexington, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Defiance Inpatient Hospice, 6817 N State Route 66, Defiance OH 43512 or the charity of one’s choice.
