Robert James Wilson

Robert (Bob) James Wilson 76, of Napoleon OH passed away peacefully on August 19th at UTMC. Robert is survived by his daughter Christina (Michael) Campos of Washington state, sister Terry Engel of Napoleon, and brother Randy (Lisa) Beverly of Delta. Bob has three grandsons, Mateo, Caden, and River Campos in Washington state. Nephews: Robert Stacy (deceased), Michael Engel of Florida, and John Engel of Napoleon, Jacob Beverly, Josh Beverly, Jesse Beverly, and Jason Beverly of Delta and Liberty Center. Bob is also survived by his best friend, his German shepherd Rugar.

Bob graduated from Fairview high school in 1968.In July of that year he joined the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego California. Bob served his six years in service as an electronic technician and was attached to a mine sweeper, USS PLEDGE (MSO 492). During his service he received a good conduct award, Navy achievement medal, National Defense medal, and Vietnam service medal. Bob ended his service in July 1974 with rank of ETN3 (Electronic Technician Nuclear 3rd grade) with an honorable discharge. After Bob’s discharge he stayed on the west coast living in California, Montana, and finally in Washington state. Bob worked at a company called Ecolab until he retired at 62. Two and a half years ago Bob decided he wanted to be around family and moved back to Ohio and settled in Napoleon. Robert was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Donna Wilson and brother-in-law John Engel 

There will be a gathering of family and friends for a celebration of life on September 12th at 3pm with military honors at the Harrison township house south of Napoleon at County Road 10 and Road N. For google maps the address is 14017 County Road N. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Zachrich Funeral Home of Holgate.
