Roberta "Gale" Carico

Roberta “Gale” Carico, age 79, of Holgate, died Saturday afternoon at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

Her Legacy… She was born May 8, 1936 to Victor and Callie (Donalson) Greear in Coeburn, VA.  On April 23, 1953, she married Letcher T. “Buss” Carico.  Gale was a lab technician at Campbell Soup but first and foremost a homemaker.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Holgate and assistant song leader and choir director.

Her Family… She is survived by her loving husband Letcher; children, Ronald (Karla) Carico, Liberty Center, Linda Farison, Defiance, Vickie Carico, Lima, Michael (Mindy) Carico, Defiance and Shelly (Steve) Szabo, Holgate; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Elvin Greear, Defiance, Peggy Quellen, Lynch, KY, Jean Girlie, Dover, TN, and Shirley Lewis, Defiance.  She was preceded in death by siblings: Lester Greear, Opal Jones, and Colin Greear.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be   received in the First Baptist Church, 448 S. Keyser Street, Holgate on Tuesday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and again 1 hour before the service.  Her celebration of life will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 am with Pastor Irl Grundy officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Township Cemetery, New Bavaria.  Contributions made in Gale’s memory can be made to Gideons International.
