Ronald W. Jones

Ronald W. Jones, 90, of New Bavaria, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Vancrest of Holgate.

He was born July 28, 1935, in Henry County, Ohio to the late Emerson and Mary (Newton) Jones.

Ronnie graduated from Hamler High School in 1953 and went on to earn his machinist degree from Northwest State Community College.

Ronnie spent 48 years at SK Hand Tool Corporation as a tool and die maker, taking great pride in his work before retiring in 2001.

A devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ronnie’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life and a quiet strength that shaped the legacy he leaves behind.

One of the most cherished moments of his life was marrying Bernadette Giesige, his “sweety,” on October 9, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple shared their wedding day in a double ceremony with Bernadette’s identical twin sister, Bernadine (Ralph) Haselman. What began that day blossomed into a remarkable 71 years of love and devotion.

Ronnie’s legacy lives on in his children, Pamela Ordway, New Bavaria; Michael Jones, Napoleon; Gary (Deb) Jones, New Bavaria; Thomas (Liz) Jones, Holgate; Gregory (Lisa) Jones, Bowling Green; Kathleen (Reg) Hohenberger, Powell; Jeffrey (Shannon) Jones, Holgate; and Jacqueline (Nick) Filipovich, Archbold. Ronnie will be remembered by his twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren as a steady, caring presence in their lives, someone who made each of them feel deeply valued and loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Jones; his infant daughter, Sandy Jones, his son, David Jones; his son-in-law, Michael Ordway and his daughter-in-law, Brenda Jones.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria, with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Visitation will take place from 2:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Putnam County Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
