Rodolfo "Rudy" Mendizabal age 85, of Holgate died Sunday night, January 21, 2024 at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
His Legacy... He was born February 1, 1938 to Abilio and Adraina (Hererra) Mendizabal in Comalapa, Guatemala. On December 14, 1965, he married Irma Aceituno. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate. Rudy worked at the Campbell Soup Company for 32 years. After that long in the can plant, he decided to retire in 1999.
His Family... He is survived by his loving wife Irma; children: Mayra (Eric) Yant, Holgate and Joe Mendizabal, Holgate; granddaughter, Reina (Justin) Gillen, Holgate; 7 great grandchildren and siblings: Ruben Mendizabal, Holgate, Carmen Garoz and Marina Estupinan, both of Guatemala. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
His Farewell Services... Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, Holgate on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 2-7 pm and at the church one hour before the service. Mass of Christian Burial is on Thursday at 11:00 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Contributions in Rudy's memory can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
