Sharon L. Niese

Sharon L. Niese, age 79, of Hamler, walked through the gates of heaven on September 6, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Her Legacy… She was born December 29, 1945, in Igloo, South Dakota to Edward and Dorothy (Rutan) Young. On November 4, 1967, she married Richard Niese in Anniston, Alabama. She was a member of Harvest Fellowship in Hamler. Sharon’s greatest legacy was her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and her willingness to share the gospel with any one she met. She considered it a great honor and biggest blessing to watch her five grandchildren, and instill the love of Jesus in them, as well.

Her Family… Sharon is survived by two children: James (Lisa) Niese, Holgate and Deborah Bennett, Hamler; 5 grandchildren: Tina (Nick) Brulport, Brandon Bennett, Kelsey Bennett, Sarah (Caleb) Baker, and Joshua Niese; 5 great grandchildren: Juniper Bennett, Ridge and Sophia Baker, Elizabeth Brulport, Josephine Rodriguez, and a 6th one on the way. She is also survived by two sisters: Janice Williams, Eastoboga, Alabama and Terry (Rick) Robertson, Rapid City, South Dakota. Sharon was Nana to all who knew and loved her and claimed them as her own, especially Dontarrie, Kadie, and Kenzie. She was loved not only by her family and friends but also by her pets–most recently her beloved cats. She enjoyed swimming, watching movies, listening to praise music, visiting with friends and family, going for walks, and so much more. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Richard on February 23, 2025, and infant daughters Cassandra Rose and Tina Ann.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received at Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 1-4:00 pm with the celebration of Sharon’s life at 4:00 pm with Pastor James Erven officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Township Cemetery, Holgate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or a charity of your choice.
