Stephen C. Cooper, age 49, of Holgate, died at his residence Wednesday morning, January 19, 2011.
His Legacy… He was born to Lloyd and Madonna (Like) Cooper, the son of Donna Cooper. He was born April 22, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. Steve worked for CSX Railroad for 25 years. On November 10, 1991 he married Donna Gerschutz. Steve graduated from Tinora High School in 1979 and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
His Family… He is survived by his wife; children, Sierra Cooper of Englewood, FL and Dave (Janet) Gerschutz of Holgate; grandchildren Ava, Jazalynn, and Spencer; brothers Ed (Pat) Cooper of Holgate and Doug Cooper of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Julie Cooper.
His Farewell Services... The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate with Father Stephen Stanbury officiating. Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 PM with the rosary service that evening at 7:30. A luncheon will be served in St. Mary’s Parish Hall immediately following burial in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Steve’s honor to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
