Patricia Lee (Gillespie) Detmer

Patricia Lee Detmer was born August 1, 1935, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and passed away on May 16, 2022, at Vancrest of Holgate.

Her Legacy… Pat was the daughter of John and Mildred Flocken Gillespie and grew up in Napoleon, Ohio. She met and married the love of her life, Warren Detmer, in 1953 and together they raised five children.  Pat was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Holgate, participating in the Women’s Mission League and cooking and serving many church dinners. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting the local library. Pat also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, and taking care of her family.

Her Family… She will be missed by her children: John (Jeannie) Detmer, Cindy (Chuck) Cline, Eric (Deb) Detmer, and Steve (Michelle) Detmer along with her 10 grandchildren: Andrew, Joseph, Daniel, Krista, Erin, Nathaniel, Natalie, Neve, Samuel, and Libby; as well as her 17 great-grandchildren.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Mark.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Friday from 3-7:00 pm and again one hour before the funeral.  The Celebration of Patricia’s Life will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Grelton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Holgate Library, St. John Lutheran Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Please visit ZachrichFuneralHome.com to leave online condolences.
